Our Peavies are designed and constructed for balance and easy handling. The handles are made of Hard Maple.

The Hooks and Pikes are made of high-carbon steel. The stop is to prevent the hook from falling back onto the handle.

ANY HOOK CAN BE PLACED ON ANY HANDLE

Our # 5 and # 7 Hooks are used to handle smaller size poles. Peaveys are intended to have only human force applied to their use. Adding mechanical force on the handle can only result in tool damage and possible serious injury to the one using it in this manner.

Peavies, like Cant Hooks, are not to be used as wedge or pry bars nor should you use additional means of leverage. Always remember, wooden handles may break – only one person per peavy and use with caution. Flexing handles in a perpendicular direction of the grain may cause handle fracture and result in personal injury.
